There are no unwanted children, only unfound homes.
That sentence is the reason Addy's Hope exists, and on Thanksgiving morning it is the reason a few thousand West Texans lace up in a church parking lot instead of sleeping in. This is the 15th Annual Turkey Trot, and every mile of it is run for children who are still waiting on a family.
"Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction." James 1:27
Addy's Hope takes that literally. They Wait clears the financial barriers that stop willing families from adopting older children and teens out of foster care. Future Hope gives young men aging out of the system at 18 a place to live, life skills, and someone walking with them into adulthood. Sustaining Hope stays with adoptive families long after placement day, because the calling does not end when the paperwork does.
On the morning we set aside to be thankful for our homes, you can help find one for a child who does not have one yet. Run the 10K, walk the 5K, sign your kids up for the fun run, or sponsor the race for your business. One hundred percent of proceeds go directly to Addy's Hope, and your registration is tax-deductible.
